There are national parks that impress you, and then there’s Bryce Canyon National Park, a place so otherworldly it feels like you’ve stepped onto a different planet. This picturesque and majestic setting is located in southern Utah and is definitely deserving of having a spot on your bucket list. Known for it's vibrant and notable red cliffs and iconic hoodoos, this amazing park will surely not disappoint. Whether you're an avid hiker, a road trip enthusiast or just a traveler seeking stunning views, Bryce Canyon offers a unique combination of natural beauty and accessible adventure.

What Makes Bryce Canyon Special?
Bryce Canyon National Park isn't an actual canyon, but instead it's one huge natural amphitheater filled with hoodoos formed mostly by erosions. This makes it the world's largest collection of them and it's famous for its sunrise/sunset colors. The panoramic views that can be found in this park feel almost unbelievable as it stretches as far as the eye can see. It's breathtaking and so surreal!
Things To Do in Bryce Canyon
There are plenty of hiking trails to be found with varying degrees of difficulty (or lack there of), anything from easy to moderate to strenous, all with a promise of thrilling views that'll leave you awe-struck. To get more details on these hiking trails, visit the National Park Service website: https://www.nps.gov/brca/planyourvisit/day-hikes.htm
The Southern Scenic Drive: This spectacular 18 mile drive is worth doing as there are various stopping points (or to be specific, 9 scenic overlooks) to take a break and soak in some spectacular, picture worthy views. It starts at the park's main entrance and ends at Rainbow at Yovimpa Points. As you keep driving, the elevation goes higher and higher. One of the easier trails, called Bristlecone Loop, can be found at Rainbow At Yovimpa Points.
There are also other activities, like stargazing (Bryce Canyon has very dark skies that are perfect for viewing stars). Horseback riding is also offered, along with ranger programs.

Places To Stay While Visiting Bryce Canyon National Park
The only lodging that can be found within the park is Bryce Canyon Lodge. For lodging outside of the park, but nearby within the community, I found this website to be helpful: https://www.brycecanyoncountry.com/places-to-stay/
Wildlife
There is plenty of wildlife found within the park to be on the lookout for. Bryce Canyon is home to prairie dogs, pronghorn, muledeer, red foxes, mountain lions, bobcats and various bird species to name a few of the animals that call this place home.
Tips for Visiting Bryce Canyon National Park
Bring layers because it can be chilly in the early mornings and evenings, even in the summertime.
Arrive early to try to get ahead of the crowds.
Stay hydrated because drinking water is always important while out hiking.
Take the shuttle during the peak season to avoid parking issues.

My Experience Visiting Bryce Canyon National Park
Bryce Canyon is certainly one of a kind. I feel very fortunate to have seen this wonderful place and hope I will be lucky to visit again one day. I went in late September when the crowds, while not perfect, were not so bad. It was easy to get into the park. The whole experience of being in this amazing place can be summed up very easily, with one word: enchanting. With the towering hoodoos, glowing amphitheaters, and the peaceful forests, it creates this setting that feels both alive and ancient. Leaving Bryce Canyon will give you a renewed appreciation for just how powerful and wonderful nature can be.
